ESL: Largest eSport tournament in the Commerzbank Arena

Turtle Entertainment, the ESL league operator, will be hosting the world’s best Dota 2 teams at ESL One Frankfurt on June 28th and 29th. The venue is none other than the Commerzbank Arena, home of the Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt and World Cup stadium of the 2006 World Cup.

A capacity of over 35,000 spectators makes the tournament the biggest Dota 2 spectacle of all time. Instead of the usual music legends, such as Michael Jackson, the Rolling Stones, or Madonna, the stadium is filled this time with Dota 2 and his fans.

While in Brazil, the footballers determine their world champion, in Frankfurt, the Dota 2 elite fights for a prize pool of over $ 200,000, which can continue to grow with the help of a special community action. The teams include fan favorites such as Natus Vincere, fnatic, or Alliance, who have already won all major tournaments in the past.

With this event the global eSport market leader, the Electronic Sports League, starts the ESL One tournament series, which emerges from the former EMS One. The ESL One promises even more action, even more emotions and even more entertainment for all eSport enthusiasts.

“Dota 2 was the first game with a prize pool in excess of $ 1 million, and we’re excited to fill a stadium with this game for the first time this year. With a capacity of over 35,000 seats, ESL One Frankfurt 2019 is ready to celebrate the biggest eSport spectacle in Dota 2, “said Ulrich Schulze, Managing Director of Pro Gaming for Turtle Entertainment. “Our brand new ESL One Season will bring together the best teams in the Dota 2 world for action. I am looking forward to seeing these finals on the stage of such a famous stadium. With the goal of creating legendary eSports moments, ESL One Frankfurt will be just the first of many high-profile events in the years to come. “
